If you're happy with f/2.8 and the size of the 70-200, I wouldn't loose to much sleep over the 105/1.4. It's brilliant lens for sure, but mostly because of the f/1.4. With the 70-200 you get VR, range, and blazing AF speed (that you definitely do not get with the 105) You are right. 70-200 FL is really very very sharp. That extra 5% of potentially better image quality is not worth the weight, size, and cost of the 2.8 for my uses. For landscape use I'd absolutely get the 70-300 over the 70-200. At $550 the 70-300 doesn't break the bank either. You could just keep the 70-200 for now and just buy the 70-300 to try out for awhile.
